Michael R. Bodwell, CPA - Partner
Michael is the firm's managing partner. Prior to founding BVWD, he served as the partner in charge of audit for the Dallas Office of a Top 50 national accounting firm, where he spent 18 years. Previously, Michael was the corporate controller for a NASDAQ listed company for two years and spent six years at the start of his career in audit at a Big 4 accounting firm. His 30 years of experience in audit and accounting leadership roles include the areas of audit, financial planning and analysis, oversight of accounting policies and processes, M&A due diligence, SEC reporting, and internal control compliance. Michael has substantial experience working with public and private companies across a variety of industries.
Michael graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA and MS in Accounting. He lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife and three children.
Zach Callaway, CPA - Partner
Zach is a partner in the firm’s consulting practice. Prior to joining BVWD, he worked at a Big 4 accounting firm in the audit practice, serving both public and private companies with a primary focus in the telecommunications and technology industries. Zach's experience includes transaction due diligence, operational and technical accounting, FP&A, business process improvement and data analytics.
Zach graduated from Abilene Christian University with a BBA and Master's in Accounting. He lives in Rowlett, Texas with his wife and two daughters.
Michael Corder, CPA - Partner
Michael is an audit partner at BVWD. Prior to joining BVWD, Michael worked at a big four accounting firm for over 20 years, including six years as audit partner, serving both public and private companies. He serves clients in a range of industries, including real estate, investment funds, professional services, financial services, and sports teams. Real estate clients served include residential, commercial, hospitality developers and operators, home builders, and data center owners.
Michael graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station with a BBA in Accounting and an MS in Finance. He lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife and two sons.
Matt Coscia, CPA - Partner
Matt is a partner in the firm’s tax practice. Prior to joining BVWD, he was a tax partner at a Top 10 accounting firm in the US for five years after that firm had acquired Montgomery Coscia Greilich LLP (MCG). Matt was a founding partner of MCG and was involved in every aspect of its operations and growth as co-managing partner for 16 years. Prior to forming MCG, Matt spent over two years at a middle market accounting firm where he was involved in IRS representation, transaction and structure design, litigation support, estate planning and asset protection. Matt led many client due diligence projects for acquisitions in Europe, Canada, Australia and the United States. Matt spent the first seven years of his career at Ernst & Young where he worked in the entrepreneurial services group at in the Tulsa, Washington DC and Dallas offices. Throughout Matt’s career he has served a diverse client base that includes large publicly traded companies, closely held entities and their owners, private equity firms, high-net-worth individuals, and professional athletes.
Matt graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Accounting. He lives in The Colony, Texas with his wife, and has two children.
Lauren Davis, CPA - Director
Lauren is a director in the firm’s consulting practice. She began her career at a Big 4 accounting firm in the audit practice, where she served clients in the real estate, construction, and life sciences industries. Prior to joining BVWD, Lauren spent nearly a decade at a multi-billion dollar hedge fund, where she managed the Investor Accounting department and specialized in fund accounting and investor reporting.
Lauren graduated from Baylor University with a BBA and MS in Accounting. She resides in Dallas, Texas with her husband and their three children (triplets).
Mark DeSimone, CPA - Partner
Mark is the firm's partner in charge of tax. Prior to founding BVWD, he served as a tax partner in the Dallas office of a Top 50 national accounting firm where he spent ten years of his career. Previously, Mark worked for Big 4 and Top 20 national accounting firms for 13 years. Mark’s career has been focused on providing federal, state, and international tax consulting and compliance services for public and private companies in various industries. With a strong background in a variety of industries and disciplines, including complex tax provision (ASC-740) matters, Mark also has significant experience in structuring transactions and the related complexities that accompany those transactions.
Mark received his Juris Doctor from University of Minnesota Law School and his BBA in accounting from the University of Memphis. He lives in Richardson, Texas with his wife and three children.
Chelsea Jenson, CPA - Director
Chelsea is a director in the firm’s tax practice. Prior to joining BVWD, she worked at a Big 4 accounting firm in the tax practice. Throughout her career, Chelsea has primarily served asset management clients, specializing in private equity funds and fund-of-funds. She brings significant expertise in advising on complex transactions involving tax planning and structuring.
Chelsea earned both her BBA and MS in Accounting from Oklahoma State University. She resides in East Dallas with her husband and their son.
TJ Millweard, CPA - Director
TJ is a director in the firm’s audit practice. Prior to joining BVWD, TJ spent more than nine years with a top-six national accounting firm, where he served a diverse portfolio of private companies across various industries specializing in healthcare, services and consumer products. Throughout his career, TJ has worked extensively with private equity-backed portfolio companies, providing technical expertise in accounting and financial reporting, drafting financial statements, and delivering tailored solutions to meet clients’ unique needs and expectations. His deep understanding of complex financial structures and commitment to quality make him a trusted advisor to his clients.
TJ earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master’s in Accounting from the University of Kansas. He resides in Grapevine, Texas, with his wife and three children.
Buu Nguyen, CPA - Director
Buu is a director in the audit practice of BVWD. Prior to joining BVWD, she worked at a Big 4 accounting firm for nearly six years. Buu has spent most of her career serving asset management clients and operating companies. She has extensive experience across multiple industries, as well as private equity funds, registered investment companies, and venture capital funds.
Buu graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a BBA and MS in Accounting. She resides in Garland, Texas with her husband and daughter.
Shelby Palmer, CPA - Partner
Shelby is a partner in the firm’s audit practice. Prior to joining BVWD she worked at a top 25 national accounting firm, a large regional firm in her home state of Louisiana and started her career at a Big 4 accounting firm. She has spent a majority of her career focused on audit and consulting services for public and private companies in various industries.
Shelby graduated from Louisiana State University with a BBA and Master’s in accounting. She lives in Dallas, Texas with her husband and goldendoodle, Louie.
Ann Pond, CPA - Director
Ann is a director in the firm’s consulting practice. She started her career in the audit practice of a Big 4 accounting firm and served public and private clients. Ann has spent a majority of her career working in the sports and events industries, focusing on corporate accounting, financial reporting and analysis, internal and external reporting, and audit.
Ann graduated from the University of Arkansas with a BS and MS in Accounting. She lives in Little Rock, Arkansas with her husband and two children.
Derek Reddell, CPA, CFE - Partner
Derek is a partner in the consulting practice of BVWD. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as an executive at a Top 20 national health system, leading the financial operations for its health plans and population health group. Derek has significant experience in operational finance, technical accounting, FP&A, treasury management, and ERP implementations and integration. He is actively involved in several professional and charitable organizations, is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
Derek graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA and MS in Accounting. He lives in Richardson, Texas with his wife and two children.
Hannah Scott, CPA - Director
Hannah is a director in the consulting practice of BVWD. Prior to joining BVWD, she held accounting and finance roles in provider-sponsored healthcare and the automotive services industries. Hannah started her career in public accounting focused on audits of healthcare, financial services, not-for-profits and manufacturing entities.
Hannah graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA and MS in Accounting. She lives in Prosper, Texas with her husband and three children.
Diana Servage, CPA - Managing Director
Diana is a managing director in the firm’s tax practice. Prior to joining BVWD, she worked at a Top 50 national accounting firm, where she focused on delivering comprehensive tax services. Throughout her career, Diana has primarily served clients in the real estate, construction, professional services, financial services, and family office sectors. She brings extensive experience with complex partnership taxation, entity structuring and transactions, and proactive tax planning strategies.
Diana graduated from the University of North Texas with a BS in Accounting and an MS in Taxation. She resides in Allen, Texas, with her husband and their four children.
Jason Traxel, CPA - Director
Jason is a director in the firm’s consulting practice. Prior to joining BVWD, Jason worked both in private industry and in public accounting. Within the private industry, he has held the roles of Chief Financial Officer and Controller of privately held companies. In public accounting, Jason worked within the outsourced accounting practice of a Top 10 accounting firm. He has experience with companies in all stages of the business life cycle and across a wide variety of industries, including waste and recycling, construction, healthcare, oil and gas, retail, private equity, and professional services.
Jason graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Finance and from The University of Texas at Dallas with an MS in Accounting. He lives in Richardson, Texas with his wife and three children.
Maison D. Vasek, CPA - Partner
Maison is the firm's partner in charge of consulting. Prior to founding BVWD, he founded HMBL Consulting, and served as Chief Financial Officer of two middle-market companies. Maison has significant experience in operational and technical accounting, FP&A, treasury management and process automation. He started his career in public accounting and spent eight years with a Big 4 accounting firm and a Top 50 national accounting firm focused on audits of public and private companies.
Maison graduated from the University of Oklahoma with BS degrees in Finance and Accounting. He lives in East Dallas with his wife and two daughters.
Sarah Welch, CPA - Managing Director
Sarah is a managing director in the firm's audit practice. Prior to joining BVWD, she worked at a Big 4 accounting firm for ten years. Sarah has spent most of her audit career serving asset management clients as well as operating companies, and she has extensive experience with private equity funds, mutual funds, registered investment companies, and venture capital funds. Sarah also worked two years in London, England assisting British and European clients with US GAAP, UK GAAP, and IFRS audits.
Sarah graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA and MS in Accounting. She resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with her husband and three boys.
Nick Wells, CPA - Partner
Nick is the firm's partner in charge of audit. Prior to founding BVWD, he served as an audit partner in the Dallas office of a Top 50 national accounting firm where he spent ten years of his career. Previously, Nick worked two years in the internal audit department of a large public company, and spent three years at the start of his career in audit with a Big 4 accounting firm. He has spent a majority of his career focused on audit and consulting services for public and private companies in various industries.
Nick graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA and MS in Accounting. He resides in Dallas, Texas with his wife and four boys.
Allyson Zabaleta, CPA - Director
Allyson is a director in the firm’s consulting practice. Prior to joining BVWD, she worked at a Big 4 accounting firm in the audit practice, serving both public and private companies with a primary focus in the telecommunications and oil and gas industries. Allyson’s experience includes operational and technical accounting, financial reporting, litigation support and ERP implementations and integration.
Allyson graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BBA and MS in Accounting. She lives in Dallas.
